Kīpūola Kauhale

Kīpūola, a Department of Transportation (DOT) site, is evolving from a temporary shelter named Puʻuhonua O Nēnē serving Maui wildfire survivors who were homeless before the disaster, into a Kauhale with 125 permanent homes. The project will be developed in two phases with an anticipated release later this year. Once complete, the new Kauhale will have improved infrastructure and include community buildings with kitchens to serve food, a community garden, laundry facilities, storage, and showers.
