Russell Wozniak co-leads the I-ON Group, a global design and strategy firm. He has three distinct areas of experience, Engineering, Architecture and Finance. He has attended the University of Alberta, University of Hawai’i and Stanford University and is both a licensed Civil Engineer, and a licensed Architect. He has worked on a range of projects, from large infrastructure to multi-phase commercial and residential projects where, in the past 25 years, he has held positions as Consultant, Contractor and Owner.
With the majority of his professional career in Hawai’i he has also lived and worked in England, Korea, Brazil and Canada. He has primarily been focused on community-based projects with great emphasis on the social value within the context of culture and place. In recent years he has taken concepts learned in Hawai’i to an international scale and sees Hawai’i to have a larger role as a model of resilient project blueprints.
He holds a Doctorate in Architecture, and is passionate about his research on ‘how innovative construction methods can improve affordability’, within the context of culture and place. In the past 5 years he has been a part of 12 different affordable housing developments, each of which are examples of innovative housing models.
