HomeAid Hawaiʻi February 2024 Newsletter

At HomeAid Hawaiʻi, we speak often of a future “beyond homelessness.” This month that future became closer to reality thanks to two new kauhale projects we completed and blessed here on Oʻahu.

Ka Malu Koʻolau Kauhale (in the protection of the Koʻolau mountain range) in Kāneʻohe, and the Hoʻokahi Leo Kauhale (A Community with One Voice) on Middle Street in Honolulu, together are able to house 54 formerly homeless individuals in a safe, dignified, and healing environment. Each village is comprised of tiny homes with shared community spaces, service provider support, and opportunities for connection. Though the homes are truly tiny at only 110 square feet, they hold the promise of a bigger future – for residents AND for our islands.

Thank you to all the volunteers, builder-partners, and donors who helped bring these kauhale to life. Your support brings us one step closer to a future beyond homelessness.

Thank you for your continued support for HomeAid Hawaiʻi. I look forward to sharing more with you soon.
