On June 13, 2025, HomeAid Hawai‘i and its community partners hosted the Ka La‘i Ola Summer Bash, a gathering that welcomed wildfire survivors who now call the community home. With food, music, and activities for all ages, the celebration created moments of laughter and connection that affirmed Ka La‘i Ola as a place of peaceful recovery.
The Summer Bash was made possible through more than $24,600 in contributions of goods and services:
Together, these contributions created a festival-like atmosphere that would have otherwise been out of reach for families who are still rebuilding their lives.
For residents, the Summer Bash was more than entertainment. It offered a chance to reclaim joy, gather as neighbors, and feel the strength of community support. Families joined in bounce houses, craft stations, and other activities that created lasting memories and deepened their sense of belonging. For survivors of displacement and loss, moments like these help restore trust and stability.
Community generosity made the celebration possible, with $24,673 in contributions from partners who stepped forward to uplift survivors. Each organization added its own strengths, coming together to honor resilience and celebrate connection. By pooling resources, partners showed that collaboration reaches beyond building homes. It supports the full spectrum of resident well-being, affirming that healing is as vital as shelter in recovery.
