Kaiulani

Kaiulani was born and raised on Oʻahu but has called Lahaina home for over 20 years. It’s where she built a life with her four children—until the Maui wildfires took everything. Without FEMA assistance, she spent a year moving between places like the Westin and Kā‘anapali Shores, searching for stability. She finally found it here at Ka La‘i Ola.

Despite all she and her children have endured, she remains resilient, holding onto hope.

“We gotta Holomua and stick together.”

While Ka La‘i Ola is still under construction, HomeAid Hawai‘i and their team of local contractors are working tirelessly, pushing through each phase as fast as possible. Hundreds have already moved in, but many families are still waiting. As the final homes come together, Kaiulani shares a message of hope:

“For anybody that is part of Ka La‘i Ola and that is still waiting on the waiting list, don’t give up. Just have faith. It will happen.”
