At Ka Malu Koʻolau Kauhale, home comes with responsibility.
Residents run their own community fund and reinvest every dollar back into the village. Every Thursday they gather for community meetings to listen, ask hard questions, and find solutions together. By caring for the ʻāina and each other, they are practicing the daily habits it takes to stand strong and prepare to give back as contributing members of our larger community.
When we asked Sheryl, “What is one word for how this place makes you feel?” she did not hesitate.
“Blessed.”
