Across from ʻAʻala Park, between the Department of Human Services building and Iwilei Senior Residence, lies a 45,000+ sqft lot being transformed into a new Kauhale with 73 tiny homes, including 10 that are ADA accessible, to serve those experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Downtown Honolulu. The main entrance will be on Iwilei Rd with a secondary entrance on N King St. The new Iwilei Kauhale will be pet-friendly and is expected to offer showers, restrooms, kitchens, and a variety of services, including case management, security, healthcare, and more.
