Combining years of construction management and hands-on construction experience, Mr. Johnston brings a well-rounded understanding of both the physical and fiscal needs of the construction and development industry.

Mr. Johnston spent nearly 20 years in Hawaii’s construction industry working for larger contractors in roles that included cost engineering, project engineering, project management and business development. Project types included hotels, resorts, single and multi-family housing and commercial.

Having worked extensively with many developers over the past decade Mr. Johnston now employs this valuable experience to serve as a resource to developers for a variety of project types under Wayfinder Pacific, LLC. Since 2017, construction management and owner’s representation projects have included multi-family affordable housing new builds and renovations, shopping center capital improvements, retail centers and repurposing of office to affordable housing.

Mr. Johnston earned his B.A degree in Economics and Urban Planning from U.C. San Diego and his M.S. in Accounting from San Jose State University.
