We are proud to share that our very own Kimo Carvalho has been selected to join the tenth cohort of the Omidyar Fellows.

Kimo joined HomeAid Hawai‘i in 2023 and now serves as CEO. His leadership has expanded the organization’s impact across the islands. Under his guidance, HomeAid Hawai‘i has grown its role as a trusted developer of deeply affordable housing and launched innovative initiatives that bring together government, industry, and community partners to address Hawai‘i’s housing crisis. Kimo has been recognized for his ability to align values with action, inspire collaboration, and champion solutions that are both cost-effective and community-driven. His selection as an Omidyar Fellow reflects not only his leadership at HomeAid Hawai‘i, but also his commitment to building a more resilient and thriving Hawai‘i for all.

Kimo will join 13 other leaders in Cohort X, representing a diverse range of sectors including for-profit, nonprofit, education, and government. Fellows were chosen through a rigorous selection process based on their courage, commitment, and impact as leaders; their experience as disruptors and catalysts for transformation; and their ability to articulate their kuleana for Hawai‘i at a time when their leadership is most needed.

The Omidyar Fellows program is a leadership immersion initiative dedicated to cultivating a network of changemakers who are committed to building a more resilient and thriving Hawai‘i. Fellows engage in shared learning experiences, strengthen their connection to ‘āina, and gain the relationships and resources needed to create lasting impact.

Cohort X launches in October 2025 with an enhanced 18-month curriculum that includes executive coaching, leadership development, and talk story sessions with community, business, and government leaders. Learn more at omidyarfellows.org.
