UFC is the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, showcasing elite fighters in global competition inside the Octagon.
When the Maui wildfires displaced thousands of families, UFC stepped in to assist recovery efforts across the island. That commitment is reflected not only in its support, but also in champions like Max Holloway, whose roots in Hawaiʻi embody the resilience of the local community.
UFC has contributed $1.2 million to HomeAid Hawaiʻi’s Maui Housing Initiative, supporting state-led projects including Ka La‘i Ola, the island’s largest interim housing community for wildfire survivors, and Kīpūola Kauhale, Maui’s first kauhale.
As part of this commitment, Max Holloway hosted a national fundraising campaign through Alltroo, where one fan won a trip to meet him at UFC 318.
The funding supported the development of permanent homes and shared communal facilities, including a fitness area and playground, at both Ka La‘i Ola and Kīpūola Kauhale.
Ka La‘i Ola will house up to 1,500 wildfire survivors, making it Maui’s largest interim housing community and the nation's 2nd largest modular community. Since opening in December 2025, Kīpūola Kauhale has welcomed residents who are transitioning out of homelessness while gaining access to workforce development and long-term stability.
UFC leaders including Dana White and Lawrence Epstein joined Max Holloway at the September 2025 celebration for Ka La‘i Ola, recognizing the completion of construction. Earlier in the year, Holloway visited both sites to see the progress firsthand and spend time with residents already living there.
