The Pauahi Hale served as the site of the “Safe Haven” program by Mental Health Kokua until 2023, when it was relocated to several sites across Oahu. It was a unique center with permanent supportive housing for homeless individuals of all ages facing chronic mental illness. One of only a few such programs in the state, Safe Haven offers mentally ill homeless individuals the opportunity to function at their highest level, to be engaged in their community, and to live with dignity.
